Just like the late PM Menachem Begin (pic left), Netanuahu c.s. had their background in terroristic and ultra secret organisations: Irgun of Etsel, Shabak and Mossad. It is their work, hobby and life goal! (The late PM Begin bombed the King David Hotel in Jerusalem in 1946 killing 91 and was responsible for many more murdering terrorists actions!) They loved to chase, to dehumiliate, torture, even to kill palestinians (and Brittisch officials pre-1948). They don't want "us" to tell them to stop with their sadistic joie de vivre. I know of two testimonies of Jewish militaries who have been traumatised by the orders they got and fled to less pro-Israel countries 25 years ago and a personal testimony of a Dutch "Blue Barret" who served 2 terms (of 4 months?) as a peace keeper in southern Lebanon. He went with the idea to stop those lebanese extremists and came back hating those Israeli militaries he has had to deal with. And, as I recall, almost the whole batalion (?) came back heavy traumatised. A few years later, on his last visit with us, one or two months before he died of AIDS, he answered my question on possible regrets: "Wish I didn't volunteered for Libanon... that I could say: Das hab'Ich nicht gewust!" I guess it's still to early to have a profound research on something like the "Israeli-Shabak-Mossad syndrome". ?

I lived there until my 17 when I moved to Amsterdam in 1970. I have selebrated dozens of jewish hollydays and feasts like barmitzva, marriage, purim, pessach, .... (exept a jewish funeral, I just realise) and have been al over in occupied Palestine, the jewish state. I have read it. And yes, I agree that it was a brave speach. I've read also the first 12 comments where-of at least 5 very long ones were interesting too. Someone questioned why the Palestinian state should be demilitarised. Indeed! Netanyahu's state is the most militarised state with REAL EXISTING weapons of mass destruction. Or are nuclear weapons just innocent toys???

Het probleem Griekenland? Het probleem onwetendheid!
De media belichten van tijd tot tijd als een "terzijde" de angst voor een domino effect. Wat gaat er gebeuren met landen als Spanje en Portugal?
Die vraag is wel terecht, maar niet relevant. Waarom mag Griekenland niet failliet gaan? Omdat dan met name de Franse banken om zullen vallen want die hebben zich goedkoop belangen in Griekenland aangemeten! Èn.... doordat zij weer - over en weer overugens - belangen hebben uitstaan bij o.a. Deutsche- en Dresdner Bank - die net als ABN-AMRO en ING alleen door staatsteun overeind zijn blijven staan, inderdaad voor een domino effect zouden kunnen zorgen.
Niet die landen als Spanje etc, maar al die grote jongens als ParisBas, Dresdner Bank c.s.! Dat is mijn stelling.
Persoonlijk vind ik dat ABN_AMRO, Deutsche Bank c.s. destijds gewoon hadden mogen omvallen. Dat is toch het kenmerk van kapitalisme? Eigen schuld, dikke bult! Dan was de puinhoop niet te overzien geweest? Dat is in mijn perceptie en van sommige, vaak hoogst onpopulaire, economen juist het tegendeel. Als er al van staatswege tot instandhouding overgegaan had moeten worden, hadden die banken genationaliseerd moeten worden. Maar dáár zit nou juist de clou. Onder het mom dat ruikt naar oud communisme is met veel bombarie en belastinggeld de boel "geredderd". Punt is dat dan alles - indirect - openbaar wordt. En dàt wilde men - lees de banken - koste wat het kost niet hebben en wil men nog steeds niet. Het werkelijke probleem zit niet in die landen, maar in de banken die handelen in ongebakken en dubbelgebakken lucht van banken en instellingen over de grens.
Een stapje in goede richting zou - DENK IK - nationalisering van de Griekse banken zijn. Maar reken maar dat ParisBas, D.Bank c.s. dat zullen verhinderen! Zij willen niet alleen maar hun geld niet kwijt raken, maar vooral hun belangen c.q. hun macht niet uit handen geven. En nog minder de vuile was op tafel leggen. Al zal het met klamme handen zijn, de banken wrijven zich wast in de handen omdat alle aandacht, moddersmijterij, en politieke steekspelen telkens "de schuld" naar de staat Griekenland of erger nog "die luie Grieken" toegeschreven wordt zoals de overgrote meerderheid van de Telegraaflezers vinden. Men hoeft mij niet te vertellen dat er in Griekenland weldegelijk appels voor citroenen verkocht zijn. Klopt! Net zoals hier in NL, in B, D, F.....VS.... wereldwijd! Of was IceSafe soms geen appels voor citroenen? De hele ABN-AMRO-Fortis een incident? Heeft de Nederlandse Bank geen appels voor citroenen verkocht??? En IMO nog steeds! Op de geheime diensten na is er niets zo afgedekt als de diverse banken. Uiteraard, op enkele uitzonderingen na zoals de nederlandse ASN en Triodos bank. Maar die hebben dan ook geen machts belangen en verlangens en spelen in het duistere wereldje van macht en politiek - helaas - ook geen rol.
Het allerlaatste dat mag gebeuren is de uitverkoop van Griekse staatsbedrijven!!! Daarmee komt het geld in handen van de Franse banken en worden de Grieken LETTERLIJK tot de bedelstaf gedoemd. Je hoeft geen econoom te zijn om te begrijpen dat de griekse staatskas dan alleen nog inkomsten uit directe- en inkomstenbelastingen kan genereren. De werkloosheid is al enorm, maar zal dan astronomisch worden. Die telefonie, electriciteit, spoorwegen, enz. bedrijven zullen niet beter worden van privatisering! In tegendeel! En goedkoper? Ja, aan de uitgavekant door opheffing van diensten en ontslagen. En die geboekte winst vloeit naar? Juist. Multinationals als Vodafone c.s. en speculative bedrijven die geen belang hebben bij het nut of noodzaak van bijvoorbeeld onrendabele sporen in het achterland. Kortom, bijna redenen om oorlogen te ontketenen. Overdrijf ik? Weten we nog wat de oorzaak was van de laatste Balkan oorlog in de Griekse voortuin? Niet die genocides, die waren het gevolg!
Al ben ik geen econoom, en heb ik als WAO-er mijn beperkingen, ik houd mij niet bezig met postzegels verzamelen of zo. (Nee, geen denigrering van Filatelisten!) Wat zei Johan Cruyf ook alweer? Juist. En zelfs na 2 T.I.A.'s is mijn vermogen om te DENKEN en NA te denken beslist niet afgenomen. In tegendeel. Mij staat 24 uur per dag de tijd ter beschikking om over alles na te denken, informatie te verzamelen, of zelfs dag en nacht alle mogelijke informatie op de diverse informatieve tv zenders tot mij te nemen ongeacht het uur van de dag of nacht. En dankzij mijn poly glotterij (méér taligheid) dus óók TV5 Monde, Rai, ARD/ZDF, buiten de Nederlandstalige of Engelstalige zenders moeiteloos te volgen. Ook Hei Elei van RTLetzeburg en al "spreek en schrijf" ik dan geen spaans, ik volg wèl TVE. En ik bedoel dus uitsluitend informatieve programma's. Ik beweer überhaupt niet "objectief" te zijn. In tegendeel! Mijn Links-Groen-Liberale opinie steek ik niet onder stoelen en banken. Maar ik kan een bepaald onderwerp volgen door de ogen van NLse, Vlaamse, Franse, Zwitserse, Duitse, Engelse,..... media. En reken maar dat er vaak totaal anders tegen een bepaald onderwerp aangekeken wordt of, en dat is m.i. belangrijker nog, elk land zo zijn eigen puzzelstukjes ter discussie stelt die in het andere land buiten beschouwing gelaten worden.
En dat is IMO het probleem van de Europeese burger. ALS hij al politiek, economisch, cultureel of wat dan ook geinteresseerd is, en dat zijn er al weinigen, blijft het vaak bij lokale of nationale belangen. Niet onbelangrijk! En zeker, de normale, hardwerkende belastingbetaler kan niet al het wereldleed tot in finesses uitpluizen. Maar ik vind het wel pijnlijk als ik in de kroeg of in de krant uitspraken hoor of lees die, populistisch of niet, toch aan navelstaarderij doen denken. Dat zou op zich nog niet zo erg zijn. Maar het is echt een feit dat clientalisme in de politiek een héél belangrijke factor speelt. En daarmee leg ik IMO de achillespees van de EU demokratie bloot: politici die het eventueel wèl beter weten, voelen er weinig voor om inpopulaire zaken uit te leggen en neigen dus te vertellen wat zijn/haar kiezer wil horen. Of, met als gevolg dat de kiezer meent dat politici zakkenvullers zijn die veel beloven maar niets doen, er wordt om de hete brei heen wat vaags gezegt. Alleen populisten, rechts of links extremisten doen dat wel; precies dat vertellen wat zijn kiezer wil horen. Dus niet een blog als dit maar: Niet zeuren, gewoon Griekenland uit de Euro pleuren! Op de eventuele vraag ; "en dan?" weten de Fransen in ieder geval wel het antwoord: "Apres nous les mouches!"
P.S. Ik moet een voorbehoud houden voor de genoemde Franse en Duitse banken. Wellicht vergis ik mij in de namen. Het zijn grote banken die wellicht niet "de" banken zijn die direct aan de Griekse tragedie kleven. Ik ben ook geen journalist en het gaat mij nu te ver om de preciese rol van al die banken voor dit blog dat door enkelingen gelezen wordt journalistiek / wetenschappenlijk na te trekken. Het is uit het hoofd gezegt. :/ Mocht ik mij vergissen in namen, neem ik dat onmiddelijk terug.

Mighty Noord-Zuid lijn ?
Met genoegen lees ik de vaak erg komische collums van MIGHTY MOSCOW oftewel van Jelle Brandt Cortius.
De collum deed mij glimlachen. Maar de (enige) reactie met "blij dat ik op een eiland woon" deed mij nog meer glimlachen: blij dat ik NOG niet in nieuw Madurodam woon. Dus moest ik ff een reactie achterlaten.

Blij met de Bijlmer! (sinds 1973) en nog Blijer met de Metro (sinds 1976/77) Klokvast in 14 min op het Waterlooplein en 16 min C.S. Voorheen 30-40 min. bus. Vorige zomer wegens tunnelrenovatie: 10 min tot Amstelstation en met geluk 25, of 30 min later per "snelpendelbus" op C.S. Maandag weer even à Paris! Neem ik ff Le Méteor lijn heen en weer voor de lol. ;) Als het aan MIJ gelegen had was het hele plan Stadsspoor Amsterdam van 1967 al midden 80-er jaren gehéél aangelegd. Maar dan was er nu weer krakeel om de verlengingen naar Hilversum, Aalsmeer, Hoofddorp-Leiden, Haarlem, Alkmaar/Edam en Almere rond te krijgen. Maar ja, ik ben ook 50 jaar te vroeg geboren voor toekomstig groot Madurodam... ;)
